Agricultural applications will require the dispensers to be turned on and off according to specific periods of demand. A milking shed is such an application which has two peak periods during the day. The function of turning the dispenser on or off can be made very easy with the unique feature of remote dispenser control. Remote dispenser control is possible by wiring a switch to the remote connector on the Ecomist 6 circuit board. The wire can run up to 30 metres long with a switch on the end. The remote feature does not actually switch the dispenser off but disables it from firing. The dispenser operates only when the switch is open. Multiple dispenser control capability: This is achieved the same as above but all the dispensers are wired in parallel to the remote connectors with the switch then situated in the most convenient location. This remote control feature also lends itself to being automated via a relay or a relay and timer combination. Remote control of the E6 dispenser is possible by wiring a switch to the remote connector on the circuit board. The number of dispensers required in any location and the ideal setting will vary according to a number of local and environmental conditions. The following examples act only as a guide. Dairies A minimum of 2 dispensers could be required in a typical 40 head milking shed with placement as close to the pit area is recommended.
